ResortQuest Northwest Florida Reaching Out To Our Local Community

As the summer season bids farewell, the Emerald Coast welcomes comfortable breezes, fewer crowds, and a myriad of outdoor festivals and non-profit charitable campaigns. This time of year is a favorite for the locals of the community and for ResortQuest as we participate in many of the fall's finest festivals and activities.
This fall ResortQuest is sponsoring three prominent events in the area. In October, we will have a booth at the Destin Seafood Festival on the Destin Harbor. This festival is the kickoff to the month long Destin Fishing Rodeo, and we received great response from our participation last year. We'll also have a booth (for the first time) at the National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, AL, a large festival boasting over 300 vendors and great shrimp! At both festivals, we will encourage the community and visitors to get "Hooked on ResortQuest."

In November, we are sponsoring the inaugural Taste of THE Beach wine and dine festival, a four day charity wine event held at several locations along the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast. With the slogan, "Wine. Dine. Donate," this event will benefit multiple charities across the area and is a great way to take advantage of the Coast's picturesque outdoors and tranquil surroundings.

Nevertheless, the tranquility of the fall season does little to slow down ResortQuest's charitable energy. ResortQuest is already campaigning to raise $10,000 for the American Heart Association, and we have many employees signed up to help with the United Way Day of Caring.
We're also planning our next United Way campaign, where we raised $32,000 last year. Finally, plans are underway for the St. Jude Golf Tournament to benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on November 13-15th. ResortQuest is also a sponsor of this event, which raised over $200,000 last year for cancer research.

With great opportunities for giving and wonderful festivals, fall is the perfect time to reach out to the community and make a difference, and that's what ResortQuest is planning to do this year!

Franklin County Making Splash Along THE Beach

A new marketing organization intent on selling coastal Northwest Florida as a single tourist attraction with unique communities, all tied together by the world's best beaches, has added Franklin County to the list of communities it represents. ResortQuest of Northwest Florida is proud to be a part of THE Beach with properties in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton and Bay counties.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

The ResortQuest Call Center is taking the initiative to become an eco-friendly business. Our goal is to Reduce, Reuse & Recycle all possible office materials as well as make eco-friendly choices when purchasing and disposing of supplies. ResortQuest has teamed up with Hurlburt Field, 16th Services Division, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to collect all recyclable paper, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, toner cartridges, cardboard, wood pallets, and out of date marketing materials on a weekly basis. Other materials such as used cell phones, rechargeable batteries, ink stamps, plastic bags and florescent lights are being recycled by various sources. A majority of the paper supplies purchased are made of at least 30% recycled materials and we’re in the process of switching to eco-friendly cleaning products and CFL lighting in our office.

ResortQuest employees are involved in the Reduce, Reuse & Recycle campaign too. We’ve asked employees to bring in reusable mugs for coffee to reduce the use of paper cups. Employees are making a conscience effort to place items in the recycle bins provided and reduce the amount of materials being used.
